The eighth-gen Civic is one of the best looking regular cars ever made.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

It’s interior was fantastic too. Simple, yet not spartan. Only thing I’d change is the kinda uncomfortable seats. But that’s pretty normal for most Japanese compact cars.

Agreed 100%. Now that they’re getting cheap i’m thinking of getting one to DD in a year or two.

Going to disagree. It’s a lot better than some of the fussy creases everywhere type cars, but I wouldn’t call it pretty. Not a fan of the proportions.

It’s a clean design but the proportions are terrible. It looks like a computer mouse. Or a Mitsubishi Lancer that rear ended a semi truck and got its hood shoved down. It would look great if the a-pillars didn’t go so far forward and the nose was a tad bit blunter.

I don’t like the gauge cluster in the one you’ve posted, that thing on top...no thanks.

That was a very clean looking design too. I prefer the hatch variant though.

I really wish the 7th gen kept the great suspension setup of the previous gens. The coupe was super clean and reminded me of the AE111.

I’ve seen a few for under $5k. Not Si’s, mind you. Cheapest Si I’ve seen was like $5500 with a salvage title, though.

No no no.

The worst Civic by far. Quality was terrible and scary under powered especially with an auto. Almost all other Japanese brands had better compacts at the time.

Worked as a body tech in a Honda dealer.

The 3 was the best of the ordinary sedans but the grin is just awful. The Civic, though, is practically a space pod in comparison.

Apparently it was too much for the American buying public though so they pulled a Ford and decided to just raise it up and stretch things out for the next one. Ahem Honda, there’s a reason Ford decided to bring back the Euro Focus for the third generation...

I thought it was trying too hard to do the Skyline thing, except far uglier. It just never made sense to me.

Speaking of things that don’t make sense...you got the Honda and the Acura Civic?

12/05/2016 at 16:31

Yep.

Don’t ask me, because I don’t know either. The Acura was basically the same thing with a few more optional extras as standard.

Madness.

Until recently in Austalia we had the Fiat Freemont and Dodge Journey. Same car, both of them crap.
